SILCHAR: As directed by the district administration of Cachar, Binnakandy tea estate has responded positively to cover its workers under preventive and protective measures in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, a global phenomenon, described as “unprecedented” and “fatal”.

Fortunately, the Barak Valley has not reported any positive case. The Binnakandy tea estate management has initiated a campaign and awareness among its workers, staff, and executives in association with garden panchayats and provided them mouth masks as well as sanitizers, besides giving them useful tips on how to protect themselves and their families from the virus. They have also been advised to maintain social distancing, wear mouth masks, wash their hands by soap, water and sanitizers and also to keep their workplace spick and span. Commercial Manager, Arun Kumar Sharma, and general manager MP Singh, of the tea estate, have always been appreciated by the workers for taking particular care of their welfare measures.
