LAKHIMPUR: A teacher living at Akhoiphutya village under Dhakuakhana, the native constituency of State P&RD minister Naba Kumar Doley, had to breathe his last allegedly due to deplorable road communication.

The teacher, named Indreswar Chamuah, who was rendering his service at Sakuli High School, had been suffering from health problems since the few past days. On Sunday night, his health condition started to deteriorate suddenly due to which he needed to be admitted in the hospital immediately. Though his relatives managed to shift him to the hospital, they had to carry him on bamboo framework (locally known as changi) for almost 2-km stretch of road and then get him inside a car due to the deplorable road communication. On the way, they had to cross a deplorable bamboo bridge too. As a result of it, the person could not be admitted in the hospital on time and he breathed his last.

Indreswar Chamuah's relatives and local people alleged that he passed away only because he could not be admitted in the hospital on time due to the poor road communication. At this, they expressed vehement resentment against the BJP-led State Government for allegedly not implementing developmental activities in the area. They alleged that the present government, like the previous governments, had also neglected the area.
