Teer trader arrested at Gohpur in Biswanath district

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Police have arrest a teer trader along with two of his accomplices last evening from Teton Chariali under Halem police station in Biswanath district.

The person was identified as Deepak Borah (47) while his accomplices were Bimaljyoti Bordoloi (35) of Dhopabar Katakichuk and Dilip Tamuli (45) of Dipora. The gang had been allegedly running the teer racket in the greater Halem area causing great financial losses to the villagers. The trio was sent to judicial custody after police had registered a case bearing number 42/21 under sections of 120 (B), 34 and 420 of IPC and 14/15 under the 'Assam Game & Betting Act'.
