In a press briefing by DIG (ER) Dr. V Shiv Prasad Ganjawala at the Jorhat SP’s office chamber on Wednesday night, he said that the investigating police officials would keep no stone unturned and so far a total of 41 persons had been picked up and phase-wise they had been sent to jail. More directly involved tea labourers would be arrested very soon, he said. As per reports, some labourers who were part of the mob had escaped to neigbouring areas and this has created concern among the innocent arrested labourers of the tea estate.
