Hailakandi: The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam 2019 was conducted with utmost fairness amidst tight security in Hailakandi on Sunday. Inspector of Schools, Rajiv Kumar Jha said the TET exam was conducted in a free and fair manner amidst tight security in all the 28 centres spread across the district. “Jammer was installed at all the examination centers and frisking done to prevent unfair practices, “ said Jha. The Inspector of Schools said the impact of the media awareness was noticed as only few examinees turned up at entrance gate of exam centers with electronic gadgets.

“Security and other arrangements were put in place at all the exam centers so that examinees could write their exam in a conducive atmosphere,” said Jha. Only two examinees - one from SAC Model Girls’ High School and the other from Algapur Public HS School - were expelled for adopting unfair means.

Refuting strongly reports appearing in a section of the media about leakage of question paper and adoption of unfair means, Jha said rumour mongers are at work to spread false and baseless news that have no credibility or authenticity.

Altogether 9,342 examinees appeared for Lower and Upper Primary Teacher Eligibility Test in Hailakandi district. It may be mentioned that SEBA Chairman, RC Jain in a review meeting here with officials of the district administration and education department on November 4 expressed his satisfaction over the preparedness being made to conduct the TET exam.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Education, RK Dam and Inspector of Schools, Jha appreciated the cooperation of the people of Hailakandi and all those connected with the exam for ensuring holding of TET exam in a free and fair manner. SEBA Chairman also congratulated the district for organising the TET exam smoothly.
