GOLAGHAT: One of the pioneers of Assamese literature, language and culture, Padma Nath Gohainbaruah's 150th birth anniversary was observed on Sunday at Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society auditorium. To mark the occasion, Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society had invited the prestigious Baan Theater Group from Tezpur to stage a drama entitled Tetun Tamuli, which is considered as a masterpiece of Padma Nath Gohainbaruah. On Sunday, the Baan Theater Group, in association with Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society, had staged the drama at the Society's auditorium in Golaghat. Earlier, lighting of lamp in front of the portrait of Padma Nath Gohainbaruah was done by noted citizen and columnist Dr Ajit Baruah. After that floral tributes were paid by president of Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society, Dr Manash Roy and president of Baan Theater Tezpur, Bankim Sharma. Also a special felicitation ceremony was held where six veteran artistes from Golaghat were felicitated for their contributions.

The drama Tetun Tamuli was directed by Bhupen Sharma. Hundreds of people gathered at the auditorium to watch the drama and the audience highly appreciated the performance of all artistes.
