Tezpur: The cultural capital of Assam will host the Tezpur Bhaona Samaroh 2025 from August 3 to 9, featuring six traditional Bhaona performances rooted in the teachings of Srimanta Sankardeva. Organised by Tezpur Udyoman Yuva Samaj, the event aims to preserve the sacred theatrical tradition of Ankiya Naat, known for showcasing mythological stories that celebrate the triumph of good over evil.

The festival officially began with the ceremonial erection of the Lai Khuta at Swahid Bakori. Each evening will highlight a different mythological tale — from Daksha Yagya and Prahlad Charitra to Abhimanyu Vadh— inviting audiences to experience the spiritual depth and cultural pride of Assamese heritage. The organisers hope to engage all age groups, especially the youth, in reconnecting with their roots.
