Tezpur University paid homage to Jyoti Prasad Agarwala on his death anniversary

TEZPUR: Tezpur University on Tuesday paid homage to Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, the cultural icon of Assam on his death anniversary. The University members offered floral tribute in the morning to the statue of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala in front of the administrative building.

A cultural programme was also organised during the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dhruba Kumar Bhattacharyya, Vice Chancellor (Acting) discussed the creative works of the great personality. He said that Jyoti Prasad was a noted songwriter, poet and film-maker and his contribution to Assamese society was immense.

Apart from the Vice Chancellor, Professor Manabendra Mandal, Dean, Students Welfare, Dr. Nabin Sarmah and Dr. Juri Gogoi Konwar, Associate Dean Students Welfare, hosts of other University officials were present on the occasion, stated a press release.
