TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia district administration reacted promptly to a news item published on Saturday with the headline “People criticize tutors”.

Circle Officer Dr Sanjib Phukan, on being instructed by the ADC Monjit Borkakoti, swooped on few private tutors and detected several students being housed for tuition in batches during the morning hours on Saturday in various locations in Tinsukia town against all safety guidelines in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.

Dr. Phukan, while lashing out at these erring tutors, warned them not to invite punitive action in the future. This move by the district administration has been applauded. It is also desired by the public that as the tuition centers are plenty in Tinsukia town, the district administration should appeal to the guardians across the district not to send their wards to the tutors and send a warning note to private tutors and tutorial homes for defiance of anti-COVID guidelines.
