Thieves loot gold jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh in Kokrajhar town

KOKRAJHAR: A gang of thieves on Monday night looted gold jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh from MP Jewellery located near a railway crossing in the heart of Kokrajhar town. The owner of Das Jewellery Sameer Das said that the thieves used a gas cutter and decamped with gold jewellery from the shop. He said the thieves looted the gold jewellery at night by cutting the steel almirah. He also said he came to know about looting when his salesmen informed him on Tuesday morning at 9 am as the lock of the shop was cut open. An FIR has been lodged at Kokrajhar police station in this regard.
