Thieves nabbed

JOYSAGAR, July 8: The Joysagar Police arrested three notorious burglars from Salaguri and Magarahat area under Joysagar PS on Friday. They were identified as Bitu Hazarika, Nayan Bhuyan and Bitupan Chutia of Salaguri and Magarahut villages. Many cases have been registered against them in Joysagar PS by local people on various burglary charges. Meanwhile, Sivasagar Police seized a car bearing registration number AS-06-G-4762, which was allegedly used by a gang of cattle smugglers from NH-37 area on Friday night. Sources informed that the suspected cattle smugglers entered Dorikapar Noujan gaon on Friday night in the car and were able to steal as many as four cows from there. But the police patrol team arrived in the village and the smugglers fled leaving the car on NH-37. Police seized the car and recovered the stolen cows.
