Thowra Congress observes Pratarona Divas in Demow

DEMOW: Thowra Block Congress, in association with Thowra Block Yuba Congress, Mahila Congress and NSUI, Pratarona Divas was observed in Demow on Monday.

Pratarona Divas was observed in protest against the false promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the people of the State of solving the flood and erosion problem of the State. On the occasion, a human chain was formed near Demow Rajiv Bhavan and the activists shouted various slogans against the BJP government and demanded solution to the flood problem in the State.

A protest rally was also taken out by Thowra Congress which was led by Sushanta Borgohain, former MLA of Thowra constituency, along with other Thowra Congress leaders on Monday. The protest rally assembled in front of the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Demow Water Resource subdivision, and a memorandum was submitted to the Assistant Executive Engineer. In the memorandum, the Congress demand repair of the Milankur embankment at the earliest.
