IMPHAL: The 2nd North East India Film Festival (NEIFF) 2025 will be held from February 12 to 16 at four venues in Manipur, supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the National Film Development Corporation, Government of India.

This year, three Assamese films are among the ten films selected for screening in the competition sections. Festival director L Surjakanta shared that the selected films include Amateurs and Baghjan (both Assamese), along with Laangoi, Lang-dai Ama, Oitharei, Sunita, Oneness, and Una Una (all Manipuri), in the feature film category. The non-feature film category will feature Legacy of 4 Generations (Manipuri) and Where is My Home (Assamese).

There will be a total of eight awards for feature films and one for non-feature films, Surjakanta added.

The festival is being jointly organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), the Government of Manipur, THOUNA, Manipur, and the Film Forum Manipur. The screenings will take place at Tanthapolis Cinema in Imphal, as well as at the Library and Information Centre (LIC) and the Kakching Dramatic Union Hall.

In addition to the selected films, there will also be non-competition screenings, including Khomlang Laman, Langdai Ama, and Taru Tarubi, which will be shown at Tanthapolis Cinema on the first day of the festival.
