Three Critically Injured in Head-On Collision on NH-715 Near Baghjan

BAGHJAN: Three individuals sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between an Alto car and a trailer truck on National Highway 715 near Baghjan, under the jurisdiction of Jakhalabandha Police Station, late at night on 28 July.

The accident involved an Alto (registration number AS 01 AH 3496) and a trailer truck (PB 02 CR 8544). The impact of the collision left all three occupants of the Alto car critically injured. The injured have been identified as Abhishek Roy, a resident of Hatigaon, Guwahati, Shyam Shah, hailing from Bihar, and Sanjay Dey, from Jamunamukh, Hojai. All three were initially rushed to the Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital for immediate medical attention. However, due to the severity of their injuries, they were later referred to a medical facility in Guwahati for specialized treatment.

The crash led to a temporary traffic disruption on the highway. Local authorities, including the Jakhalabandha police, arrived at the scene promptly and cleared the route for vehicular movement. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the accident. Eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage from the highway are being reviewed as part of the ongoing probe.
