DIBRUGARH: Three flood protection schemes under SDRF projects of Irrigation Department were launched on Friday in order to repair the flood-damaged portion of Bortichuk Litting village, Rohmoria village and Lokachoni village in Rohmoria area in Dibrugarh district.

State Irrigation Minister Pijush Hazarika, who visited Rohmoria on Friday, formally inaugurated all three projects in presence of Dibrugarh and Lahowal LAC MLAs, Prasanta Phukan and Binod Bora respectively, Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu, chairman of DDA, Ashim Hazarika, other senior officials of the departments and local inhabitants .

The three SDRF flood protection projects of geo-bags and porcupines, after completion, are expected to protect areas under 650 metres in Bortichuk Litting village, 545 metres in Rohmoria village and 525 metres in Lokachoni village in Rohmoria areas from floods.
