Three Persons Arrested in Bank Official Junu Sarma Murder Case

Rangia: Three persons, including the driver of bank officer Junu Sarma, have been arrested so far. This was stated by PS Mahanta, Kamrup Superintendent of Police, at a press meet held at the SP Kamrup office on Sunday evening regarding the murder of Junu Sarma, Deputy Manager of State Bank of India, Dadara Branch. In this connection a case was registered in Hajo police station. The case number is 802/18 U/S 302 IPC, R/W 25(A)/ 27 Arms Act. The persons who have been arrested so far are Md. Saddam Hussain alias Putul Ali (25), son of Md. Chand Mohhamad Ali of village Monahkuchi under Hajo PS in Kamrup district, Sunil Kumar Mishra (59), son of Bhabani Charan Mishra of Guwahati and June Sarma’s driver Pranab Kalita (43), son of Abhoy Kalita of Chandari, Nirzarapara under Chandmari PS.

According to the SP, the investigation is on. He said that the murder took place due to the KCC loan scam. Junu Sarma was murdered on the night of October 8 at Agiyathuri by two unknown bike riders. The miscreants shot at him from close range.
