LAKHIMPUR: Three more COVID-19 patients were detected in Lakhimpur on Monday. The patients have been identified as Swarup Das (18) and Paban Biswas (24), residents of No 3 Jorhotiya village under Katori Chapori area, and Nripen Kakati (22) of Kasuwa village under Dhalpur area of the district.

As per report, Nripen Kakati is a laboratory technician who had been working at the Dedicated COVID Hospital (DCH) set up at Telahi Model Hospital. He was under institutional quarantine at Hotel Sharnaz located at North Lakhimpur town for the last six days. His swab sample was collected on June 20 and then it was sent to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) for coronavirus test. He was shifted to the isolation ward of North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital after his swab test result came positive.

On the other hand, Swarup Das and Paban Biswas were at Shahpur Nagar in Hyderabad working in a plastic manufacture company along with another youth named Kartik Das. They came back home on June 19 by flight via Kolkata to Guwahati and then reached North Lakhimpur town by bus on June 20. On the same day, their swab samples were collected at Madhavdev University at Narayanpur and then they were quarantined at Bihpuriya College. They were admitted in the Dedicated COVID Health Centre at Boginadi Model Hospital after their swab test result reported positive for coronavirus.

With these three patients, the number of COVID-19 infected people rose up to 99 in the district on Monday.
