Three youths killed in separate incidents in Chirang district

KOKRAJHAR: Three youths have been killed in two separate incidents in the Chirang district on Monday night. Police sources said a police team led by Additional SP, Chirang Prakash Medhi carried out a search operation at midnight and there had been an exchange of gunfire in Khungring area under Runikhata police station in Chirang district on Monday night at around 1 am where Medhi was hit by a bullet in his hand. The two youths suspected to be ex-cadre of NLFB (National Liberation Front of Boroland) died on the spot. One of the youths was identified as Mahanta Narzary of Khungring Sidabari under Runikhata PS while the dead body of another youth was not identified.

In another incident, unknown miscreants shot dead Raja Boro (20 years) of Kamarpara near Kisan Bazar on the road under Dhaligaon PS of Chirang district on Monday night. The motive behind his killing was not known. Both the incidents of killings have brought questions among the people as regular killing incidents one after another are taking place.
