Tinsukia DC Diganta Saikia orders people to undergo RAT, RT-PCR test

TINSUKIA: In view of increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in Tinsukia district, the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia-cum-chairman DDMA, Diganta Saikia by an order, directed all staff of State and Central Government offices including educational establishments, public undertakings under State and Central Government, shops and commercial establishments including malls and warehouses, residential apartments and individual households to undergo Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and RP-PCR Test from September 28-September 30 for which an intensive COVID-19 testing arrangement has been initiated under the district administration and Health & Family Welfare Department.

The order also directed all to cooperate with the team deputed from COVID-19 counselling centre. Any violation and obstruction of this order will attract punitive actions under Disaster Management Act 2005 and Epidemic Control Act of India 1897, the order stated.
