TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia District Magistrate, while ordering a magisterial inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of death of five persons allegedly due to gas emission in Baghjan area following oil well blowout as reported in some media, clarified that the preliminary investigations revealed that one person was suffering from TB since 2019 and he expired on June 4 at Srimanta Sankardev Hospital and Research Institute, Dibrugarh.

Another person was suffering from liver disease for last six months and was undergoing treatment at AMCH. He expired on June 4 at his own residence. Another person who had history of epilepsy reportedly expired on June 3 due to drowning. A female belonging to Natun Rangagarah village expired in Dibrugarh and not at her birth place at Natun Rangagarah village as reported, stated a DIPRO press release.
