DOOMDOOMA: In order to reduce maternal mortality rate, a district-level maternal death monitoring committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Tinsukia District Commissioner (DC) Swapneel Paul on Monday at the conference hall of the DC office. In the meeting, detailed discussions on causes and circumstances of past maternal deaths were held.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner of Health Mirzana Hussain, Joint Director (Health) Dr Jayant Bhattacharya, zonal health officers, family members of deceased maternal mothers, and ASHA workers in the area concerned.
The District Commissioner gave directives and advice to the officers and employees of the health department to ensure that no maternal mother died in the district in the future.
