Tinsukia limping back to normalcy after anti-CAA protests

TINSUKIA: After a week of turbulence, Tinsukia is limping back to normal with interstate buses resumed services without any obstruction by the protesters on National Highway 37 and 38. The business establishments particularly traders opened their shutters even as protests continued in a regulated manner by different organizations including Tinsukia District Congress Committee at Durgabari here under the aegis of Itakhuli Block Congress.

The night curfew has been partially relaxed on Thursday and imposed from 7 pm to 5 am with no untoward incident reported from anywhere of the district. Banks and other financial institutions functioned till 3pm though many ATMs are either closed or had gone dry without cash. The Tinsukia Railway Division of NFR is yet to restore services between Tinsukia and Dibrugarh due to damage which resulted extreme inconveniences to Tinsukia railway passengers as they had board at Dibrugarh to avail Rajdhani Express and other trains.
