TINSUKIA: Tinsukia Sadar police arrested four persons, including the prime accused in connection with the alleged murder of Pinku Sarma (28), a pick-up van driver of Parbotia who was stabbed to death on the night of May 12 near Assam Agency petrol pump on AT Road.

The accused have been identified as Suraj Nayak alias Veeru (22), the prime accused of No 2 Megela Goan Doomdooma, Bhagwan Sah (48) and Aman Sah (18) of Balugada Tinsukia and Raj Kumar Sah (39) of Chaliha Nagar, Tinsukia. All the accused were occupants of another pick-up van. According to reports, both the pick-up vans were returning from Jagun after unloading goods and had altercation at a dhaba. After reaching Parbotia Road-AT Road crossing, they engaged in quarrel again and Suraj Nayak allegedly attacked Pinku with a sharp weapon. Pinku succumbed to his injuries later. A case (420/2022) u/s 302/34 has been registered against them.
