DOOMDOOMA: In the state level conference of Aryabhatta Science Centre (ASC) under Department of Science, Technology and Climate change, Government of Assam, that was held at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre, Guwahati on May 25 and May 26, the students’ team from Tinsukia district was able to bring glory to the district. In one of the science-based competitions, Pranshu Chetia, a student of Radhakrishna Academy under ASC, Kakpathar Development Block, topped the list in the innovative idea competition and was ranked fourth in the Science Model competition.

On the other hand Kalpajyoti Buragohain of Pub-Sadiya ME School under ASC, Sadiya Development Block begged fourth place in Science Model competition. Both of them made Tinsukia district proud and brought reputation to the district by their achievements.

Under the supervision of District Co-ordinator Diganta Bhajani, the eight students selected from district level conference of ASC, block co-ordinators of Saikhowa, Kakpathar, Hapjan, Margherita, Itakhuli and Guijan Development Blocks and two teacher - incharges - Sagar Panika of Itakhuli block and Munmun Deori of Hapjan block took part in the conference.

The Assam Science, Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) awarded Rs 10,000/- cash prize to Pranshu Chetia and Rs 1,000 cash award to Kalpajyoti Buragohain besides certificates at the validictory function.
