TKAC elections: Final list of candidates released in 5 constituencies of Golaghat district

GOLAGHAT: The final list of candidates for four constituencies of Golaghat subdivision and one constituency in Dhanshiri subdivision under the council for the upcoming Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council (TKAC) elections to be held on January 20, was released recently. A total of 13 candidates are confirmed to be contesting as not a particular candidate withdrew his nomination form till the last day of nomination.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Harprabha Thangal and Congress' Bipin Bara in 11 No. Thengal Kamargaon constituency, Congress candidate Janhvi Saikia, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Shikhamani Thangal Baruah and independent candidate Parismita Thongal will contest in Kachamari constituency reserved for women in Golaghat subdivision. On the other hand, BJP's Smritirekha Thengal in 14th Chaudang Pathar constituency, Chaya Thangal of Congress party and Bhaskar Thengal of CPI and BJP candidate Padmaeshwar Saikia and Congress candidate Utpal Thangal were finalized for the 15th Chaudang Pathar Daiyang constituency.
Congress candidate Hiranya Bora, BJP's Minali Hazarika Saikia and Aam Aadmi Party candidate Narayan Bora will contest in 12 No. Gelabil constituency under Dhansiri subdivision.
Polling will be held for all the five constituencies in the district from 8 am to 4 pm on January 20. Voting will be held again on January 22 if required at any centre. Counting of votes will be held from 8 am on January 24.
