Tragic Road Accident Kills Baksa BJP Vice President Jaminee Swargiary

GUWAHATI: In a tragic road accident, Jaminee Swargiary who was the BJP vice president of Baksa district lost her life at Tamulpur.

The tragic road mishap occurred on the Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan National Highway in front of Tamulpur Higher Secondary School. The BJP vice president of Baksa, Jaminee Swargiary was around 60 years old at the time of her death.

As per sources, the state health minister Keshab Mahanta was supposed to visit Tamulpur sub-division to inspect the site of the proposed Tamulpur Medical College and Hospital on Monday when the shocking incident occured.

Jaminee Swargiary, along with other BJP leaders and workers, was on their way with her daughter Prabha Swargiary on her scooty to supposedly visit the health minister's programme.

As per sources, when the health minister's programme was cancelled, Swargiary was returning home along with her daughter. While her way back home, the scooty was hit by a dumper truck bearing registration number PB-10-CZ-9091 while she was returning from Rangia to Tamulpur.

Jaminee Swargiary along with her daughter received serious injuries in the road mishap.

She was immediately rushed to the Tamulpur Primary Health Centre and after receiving preliminary medical aid, she was taken to Rangia for further treatment. But she passed away during treatment in a private nursing home at Rangia. Her daughter who received grevious injuries in the road mishap is still undergoing treatment at Rangia.

It may be mentioned that, Jaminee Swargiary who hailed from Bhakatpara in Tamulpur, was the wife of former Baksa district BJP president, late Lob Ram Swargiary.
