TINSUKIA: A 15-day self-financed training programme for Agricultural Input Dealers of Tinsukia district got under way at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tinsukia on Friday. The training programme was inaugurated virtually by Dr PK Pathak, Director Extension Education, Assam Agricultural University who highlighted the importance of training for input dealers in order to provide need-based services to the farming community. The programme was chaired by Dr Bijit Saud, principal scientist, Citrus Research Station (CRS) Tinsukia.

Earlier, Gayatri Deori Bhuyan Senior Scientist and Head i/c of KVK Tinsukia, while welcoming the guests and participants, laid the objective of the training programme. She said that the aim of the training programme was to equip the agriculture input dealers with appropriate knowledge of agricultural farming technology who have direct link with the farming community. Subject matter specialist (Soil Science) Dr Kripal Borah, who is also course director, is being assisted by Priyanka Amonge, the subject matter specialist (Agronomy) in the training programme.

Among others who also addressed the gathering were Tapan Neog, SDAO Department of Agriculture Tinsukia, Dr Sikha Deka and Nilim Kalita, junior scientists of CRS Tinsukia.
