LAKHIMPUR: The five-day training programme on 'The Assam Right to Public Services (ARTPS) Act, 2021' started in Lakhimpur district on Monday. The training programme has been scheduled to be held on November 8, November 9, November 11, November 12 and November 15. During the training programme, the departmental heads of the district and other officers of their offices will be trained on the Act on the stipulated days separately.

Notably, ARTPS Act is an act to provide for the delivery of notified public services to the people of the State within the stipulated time limit and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.

The training programme has been organized under the auspices of Lakhimpur district administration in collaboration with World Bank-financed Assam Citizen Centric Service Delivery Project, ARIAS Society in the conference hall of the Lakhimpur Zila Parishad office. On Monday, the programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan. He called upon the district officers to make the citizens aware on their rights ensured by the Act concerned and to ensure the services to be provided by their offices. ADC Manorama Morang also attended the programme. Professors of Lakhimpur Girls' College, Bikash Das and Mangal Sing Kraw took part in the programme as master trainers.
