TINSUKIA: A two-day training programme on 'Organic and Natural farming' has been organized by Regional Centre of Organic and Natural Farming, Imphal, Manipur in collaboration with Citrus Research Station (CRS) of Assam Agricultural University, CRS Tinsukia on November 24 and November 25.

The programme was inaugurated with a warm welcome address by Dr RK Kakoti, Chief Scientist of CRS, Tinsukia. Assistant Director Dr RHS Srivathsa of Regional Centre of Organic and Natural Farming, Imphal, Manipur graced the occasion with a brief lecture on different certification systems in organic and natural farming.

Gayatri Deori Bhuyan, Senior Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tinsukia highlighted the scope and importance of natural farming in her lecture. Eminent scientists of CRS, Tinsukia and RCO&NF delivered their lectures on organic and natural farming. A total of 20 extension officials and two progressive organic farmers of Tinsukia district participated in the programme. The farmers and extension officials opined that the training programme was highly motivational and they believed that such training programmes would definitely bring a change in the organic sector of the Tinsukia district.
