Trucks carrying cows seized in Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR: In a sensational incident that took place on Thursday night on NH-37 near Rajabari-Sukanpukhori area of Sivasagar, the Hindu Yuba Chatra Parishad and the Bajrang Dal members of Sivasagar district apprehended four trucks on suspicion at night and informed the Sivasagar Police. The police team rushed to the spot and during a search operation, the trucks were found to be transporting 34 cows to Dhubri district.

The police seized the cows which were suspected to be smuggled ones in the absence of any legal papers. The cows have been sent to Nazira gosala. While the trucks have been seized by the police and brought to the police station, a case has been registered following a written complaint filed by the local organizations in the Sivasagar PS on Friday. Five persons were apprehended for questioning regarding the transportation of the cattle to far Dhuburi by Police.
