Trucks laden with illegal minor minerals seized in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: In another successful operation, a team of the forest department of Sonitpur west forest division, under the leadership of Range officer Mrinal Jyoti Medhi of Tezpur Sadar Range forest office, carried out an operation and seized three trucks laden with minor minerals.

Official sources said that the three trucks laden with stone chips and sand, and bearing registration numbers AS12 AC 6228, AS 12 BC 7224 and AS12 E 9822, were seized during a special raid conducted at Napam, Kawaimari and Parua area in Sonitpur district. These trucks were running without TP, challan and other required documents for supplying minor minerals.

The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of Nripendra Nath Kalita, DFO, Sonitpur West Forest Division. These trucks were kept under the custody of Tezpur Sadar Range office.
