Trucks laden with minor minerals seized by a team of Sonitpur West Forest division led by Range Officer Shamim Akhter

Tezpur: A team of Tezpur Sadar Range office under Sonitpur West Forest division led by Range Officer Shamim Akhter, seized three trucks laden with boulder, sand and chips from Dolabari and Goroimari area under Tezpur Police Station in Sonitpur district on Tuesday.

While talking to The Sentinel, Shamim Akhter said that the trucks were seized for violation of Assam Minor Mineral Rule 2013 of the forest department under section 64 (1) and these trucks were running without valid TP and challan for supplying minor minerals. She further added that the operation against illegal mining would continue in Sonitpur district. All the trucks were kept under the custody of Tezpur Sadar Range.
