TINSUKIA: Two children's books were released at a book inauguration programme organized by Tinsukia Zila Sahitya Sewi Mancha (TZSSM) at Tinsukia on Sunday. The programme was chaired by TZSSM president Atul Chandra Sharma. The books – 'Nani Kokar Padya', a collection of poems written by retired teacher and poet Nani Bordoloi, and 'Eta Sahapahur Kahini' written by retired principal, poet and novelist Pranati Baruah- were formally inaugurated by noted Assamese litterateur and former acting Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, Dr Madan Sarma.
The programme was attended by former Head of English Department, DDR College, Chabua and a writer, Dr Junu Mahanta as chief guest while Dr Mridul Sharma, a writer and a professor of the Assamese Department of DHSK College, Dibrugarh, as appointed speaker. The programme was also addressed by eminent Assamese poet and the founder president of TZSSM, Sarifa Khatun Choudhury.
