Two college students meet watery grave at Bajali, Barpeta

PATHSALA, July 18: In two separate tragic incidents, two teenagers lost their lives on Wednesday noon during their summer vacation in Bajali subdivision, one in Pathsala town and another in Kurobaha Tangla of Barpeta district. The youths drowned in two separate ponds when they went to take a bath in order to get relief from the scoring heat. In the first accident, Dhritiman Patgiri, aged about 18 years and a student of Krishna Kanta Handique Junior College, Pathsala, drowned to death. He was the son of Kulen Patgiri, resident of Muguriya. His body was taken out from the pond by the local public of the area and they immediately took him to Pathsala Swahid Madan Rawta Civil Hospital but the doctor declared him dead.

In the second accident, Yubaraj Talukdar, aged about 20 years and a student of Bhawanipur Hastinapur Bijni (BHB) College, drowned in a similar fashion. He was the son of Sarat Chandra Talukdar of Kurobaha Tangla. Later, both bodies were sent for post mortem to the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College, Barpeta, from Pathsala Swahid Madan Rawta Civil Hospital.
