DIBRUGARH: A two-day conference of the Superintendents of Police of the State is to be held at the oil town Duliajan from January 3, 2022. Power and Sports Minister, Bimal Bora disclosed this to the media persons at a press meet held at the Deputy commissioner's conference room here on Tuesday. He also disclosed that DIG, IGPs and other senior police officials including sub-divisional police officials will attend the conference. He further stated that Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will also attend the conference.

Power and Sports Minister Bora further stated that Chief Minister has taken up several steps to rejuvenate the sagging image of civil and police administration and had started Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police conferences in different places of the State to invigorate both the administrations so that general people could get all forms of help from the law enforcing authorities.

Meanwhile, the SP conference was held at Kaziranga a few months back and a similar conference of DC was held at Diphu in Karbi Anglong district. "Such conference of SPs would encourage and inspire over 70 thousand police personnel of the State to work for protecting the life and properties of 3 crores 30 lakh peoples of the State, Bora stated.

Moreover, the minister said, Chief Minister Dr Sarma has launched a campaign against drugs in the State since his assumption of power in order to free the youths of the State from drugs. The campaign has been going on in the entire State and whatever quantities of drugs seized by law enforcing authorities were later burnt.
