Two Dead, Four Hurt in Road Mishap at Tamulpur

TAMULPUR: Two youths died and four others were seriously injured when one Scooty and one tempo van collided head-on near Menoka Tea Estate on 127 (D) Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan International Border Link Road under Tamulpur subdivision in Baksa district on Monday. The tempo van bearing registration number AS-28- C- 0712 was traveling towards Kumarikata from Darrangamela. It collided head-on with a Scooty bearing registration number AS-28-H-4334 travelling towards Darrangamela from Kumarikata.

Simion Narzary (36), who was on the Scooty, died on the spot while Arjun Mushahary (38) was seriously injured. Getting the information, in charge of Darrangamela Police Outpost rushed to the spot with a police team and Arjun was sent to GMCH with the help of local people. But he died on the way to Guwahati.

On the other hand, tempo passengers Maneswar Narzary(28), Nandeswar Basumatary (80), Gobardhan Khakhlary (85) and Pradip Narzary (3) were injured. All injured persons were immediately admitted at Kumarikata State Dispensary and after providing primary treatment, they were sent to Guwahati for better treatment. The bodies of Simion and Arjun have been sent to Mushalpur for post-mortem.
