Khetri: Two people lost their lives and a teenage girl was left critically injured in a road accident on National Highway 27 near Khetri on August 13. The incident occurred when a Maruti S-Cross, travelling from Guwahati towards Jagiroad, lost control and crashed into a tree on the road’s median.

The driver, retired Raha College lecturer Gajendra Mohan Dev Sharma, and his wife, Archana Sharma, who was seated in the front passenger seat, died instantly from the impact. A teenage girl seated in the rear suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to the hospital by Khetri traffic police, where she remains in critical condition.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. “While we were not present when the accident happened, the condition of the car suggests it was travelling at high speed, lost control, and hit the tree resulting in the tragic loss of two lives and serious injury to one,” a police official said.
