DIBRUGARH: In a moment of pride for Assam, two students from Dibrugarh’s DHSK College — Sahil Ansari and Afrid Ahmed Borah — have been selected to represent the state at the prestigious National Youth Parliament 2025. They are the only participants chosen from Assam for this national-level event.
The National Youth Parliament is scheduled to take place from May 26 to May 30 in Konark, Odisha, with the main session on May 27. The event brings together young minds from across the country to discuss national development, participate in policy debates, and engage in cultural exchange under the theme “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
Sahil and Afrid’s selection highlights the growing presence of Dibrugarh in national youth forums and reflects the region’s commitment to nurturing young leaders. The duo will join representatives from every state, contributing their perspectives and ideas on shaping the future of India.
Earlier, Dr. Bitap Raj Kalita, Department of Physics and Centre for Atmospheric Physics, Dibrugarh University, was invited to and participated in the national meet on the performance appraisal and data release of Aditya L1 on January 6, 2025, held at the ISRO Headquarters in Bengaluru.
He is the only scientist from Assam and the Northeast region to be invited to the national meeting. Aditya L1 is the dedicated solar observatory of India positioned at the first Lagrange point (L1) in the Sun-Earth system.
