Two fake ULFA(I) cadres held by Sonitpur Police
A team of Sonitpur Police under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur Dr Dhananjay Ghanawat launched an operation and arrested two fake ULFA (I) cadres from Parua Chariali for extorting money from a businessman.

TEZPUR: A team of Sonitpur Police under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur Dr Dhananjay Ghanawat launched an operation and arrested two fake ULFA (I) cadres from Parua Chariali for extorting money from a businessman. In this connection a case vide Tezpur PS Case no. 2283/21 U/S 120B/387 IPC R/W 10/13 UPA Act was registered and forwarded to judicial custody. They have been identified as Ranjit Mahanta (58) and Maloi Goswami (49). They were involved in numerous extortion cases in Sonitpur district, police officials said.
