According to sources, from the Bokota mouza, people came to catch fish with net and bait in Demow River and at that time, the officials of Demow Fishery Samabai Samittee came and opposed them. According to sources, on November 15 a similar incident happened in Sarugua Demow Ghat. Both groups had a war of words and then the local magistrate and a team of Demow Police Station tried to control the situation. When the situation worsened, a team of high-level police officials came from Sivasagar and brought the situation under control.
