Two Minor Girls from Assam kept under ‘House Arrest’ rescued in Arunachal Pradesh

Biswanath: In a major rescue operation, Biswanath Police rescued two innocent minor girls who were allegedly held captive in an interior part of Chirang in Arunachal Pradesh for the last couple of months.

The identities of both the girls were kept hidden for security issues.

As per police reports, both the minor girls are the residents of Gutibari area under Gingiya Police Station in Behali of Biswanath District.

Sources also informed that both the minor girls were engaged in household chores at Arunachal Pradesh due to financial issues.

It is to be noted that the minor girls went to the interior parts of Chirang located in Arunachal Pradesh with their parents in search for work. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, the parents had to leave both their girls behind which led to the house arrest of the girls.

Later, the mother of the two minor girls Shantimaya Munda lodged an FIR at the Gingiya Police Station; following which Assam Police launched a secret operation from May 1 to 4 and rescued the minor girls from the house arrest.

The operation was led under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police, Muzafar Hussain and officer in charge of Gingiya Police Station Biswajit Medhi.
