LAKHIMPUR: Two more COVID-19 patients were detected in Lakhimpur on Sunday. The patients have been identified as Narendra Sonowal (30), resident of Sonowal Kachari village under Majuli district, and Jiyaur Haque (22) of No. 1 Ahmedpur under Bongalmora area of Lakhimpur district.

As per report, Narendra Sonowal is a driver in the office of the Joint Director, Lakhimpur District Health Department. At present, he is in charge of a vehicle rendering service for the National Health Mission of the district. Recently he transported laboratory technicians under the health office. It is suspected that he got infected while carrying out his duty. His swab sample was collected on June 19. He has been admitted in North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital. The District Health Department has isolated 10 persons who came in his contact.

On the other hand, Jiyaur Haque is a ground staff of New Delhi International Airport. He was at Mahipalpur in New Delhi and came back home on June 17 by flight via Guwahati and then reached North Lakhimpur town by bus on June 19. On the same day, his swab sample was collected at North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital and he was quarantined at Hotel Moonlight. He was shifted to the Dedicated COVID Hospital at Telahi Model Hospital after his swab sample tested positive for coronavirus.
