Two stolen motorcycles recovered by Itakhola Police; one accused nabbed

JAMUGURIHAT: Acting on a tip off, a team of Itakhola police headed by Nayan Kumar, Officer In-Charge of Itakhola outpost under Sootea police station, recovered two stolen motorcycles.

According to information, one Hasana Basumatary, a resident of Rangapara under Sonitpur district, had stolen a white coloured Yamaha motorcycle bearing registration number AR01U2353 of one Nana Nabam, a resident of Chusung village of Pakke Kessang district of Arunachal Pradesh, on July 2. The victim Nabam had informed the police that Hasana Basumatary along with his three other friends had stayed a night in his house on June 25 while they were returning from Seppa. Nabam allowed the strangers to stay in his house on the ground of humanity. Later, Hasana along with his other friends returned to their respective homes on June 26.

But on June 27, Hasana Basumatary visited Nabam’s house again on his motorcycle having registration number AS12U7537. On the next day, Hasana asked the mason working in Nabam’s house to keep him as his assistant. Hasana worked as a helper of the mason in Nabam’s house till July 2 and then fled stealing his Yamaha motorcycle.

Based on the input of Pakke Kessang police, Itakhola police team conducted a search operation in Rangapara in collaboration with Rangapara police and recovered the stolen motorcycle from the possession of Hasana Basumatary on Thursday. The police team also recovered another stolen motorcycle from his possession on the same day.
