Two students drowned in Chirang district

BONGAIGAON: Two students drowned while bathing in a river on Tuesday. The incident took place in the Ranighat area under Panbari PS of Chirang where 10 boys went for bathing in river. An eye witness said that while they were bathing, two boys named Tituraj Daimary (17), a resident of Panbari Lowarpara, and Sanjay Basumatary (18) from Borobazar of Bijni, drowned in the river. "They were all Higher Secondary students who went there for bathing. The police were informed. A SDRF team immediately launched search operation in the river and recovered the body of Tituraj. Sanjay is still missing," a source said.
