MANGALDAI: Two persons staying in the quarantine centre at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mangaldai tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday midnight.

Immediately after getting the result of the swab test which confirmed them to be infected with the virus, the medical team rushed to the centre and at about 1.50 am, admitted them in the isolation ward of Mangaldai Civil Hospital.

They have been identified as Jalal Ali (23), son of Amir Ali of village Baruajhar No.1 under Dalgaon Police Station, and Nanda Barman (44), son of Sachindra Barman of village Athiabari, Baralakhat near Namkhola under Sipajhar Police Station. Jala Ali and Nanda Barman had returned from Madhya Pradesh and Chennai respectively five days back. The district administration on Saturday sealed the Kendriya Vidyalaya complex and declared it as the second containment zone of the district.
