LAKHIMPUR: The United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) has expressed dissatisfaction over the judgement made by the Guwahati High Court on imposing lifetime imprisonment to Ranjan Daimary, the former chairman of NDFB, along with six others.

In a press release, issued on Wednesday in this connection, UBPO central committee president Manuranjan Basumatary and Pitambar Brahma said, "Every signatory organization of the third Bodo Peace Accord and the entire Bodo community, keeping in mind the spirit of the Accord, had faith on the judgement to be made. All of them expected that the judgement would be made in the spirit of the Bodo Peace Accord which was signed on January 27, 2020 with ABSU, four factions of NDFB and UBPO."

Through the same press release, UBPO urged the Union and the State governments to discuss the matter again and initiate a positive role to release Ranjan Daimary from jail to maintain peace.
