KALAIGAON: In a unique initiative, the high officers and its employees of the Udalguri Fishery Development Office organized a four-day long training on fish farming to popularize the concept of fish farming in the premise of Fishery Development Office in Udalguri district under the Bodo Territorial Council (BTC) from Friday which concluded on Monday.

Bipul Khataniar, Fishery Development Officer of Udalguri District Fishery Development Office welcomed the participants and explained the objectives of the training programme. After that, Himangshu Bhattacharjya, Fishery Development Officer of Khairabari Fishery Block Office spoke on the fish farming method. District Veterinary Officer, Dr. Nagen Kalita explained the scientific method of alliance farming of fish with pig and duck. However, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Phanidhar Brahma also spoke for alliance farming of fish with paddy in the fishery to develop more in this sector. Brahma finally advised the farmers to go for organic farming, which is the need of the hour. Agriculture Officer Brahma also said that chemical used in cultivation is damaging human organs. So, this trend should be stopped.
