Udalguri Municipality Board joins Plastic-free Mission

TANGLA: In an effort to contribute towards containing plastic waste and saving water, Udalguri Municipality Board (UMB) launched its mission against single-use polythene and plastic bags in Udalguri town from Saturday.

“It is in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarion call to make India a plastic-free nation and the Udalguri Municipality Board’s Plastic-free Swaccha Bharat Mission (Urban) will continue to October 2,” said the chairman of UMB, Ripen Daimari.

Meanwhile, two schools of Udalguri town area, Udalguri Girls’ Higher Secondary School and Ramswaroop Agarwalla Memorial English School, declared their institutions as plastic and polythene free-zone since September 1.
