BISWANATH: In a very bizarre incident, a youth was hacked to death with an axe by his own uncle while he was sleeping. The incident took place in the Kadamani village of Biswanath on Tuesday.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Mahesh Ghatowar was sleeping on his bed at his residence in the Kadamani village. His uncle, identified as Mintu Gharowar entered the room Mahesh Ghatowar was sleeping in and attacked him mercilessly with an axe. After committing the murder, Mintu Ghatowar proceeded towards the town with the blood stained axe in his hand.

When the public noticed him walking around with the bloodied axe, they raised the alarm and visited his residence and there they realized what had happened in the house.

Meanwhile a team from Biswanath Police arrived at the location of the crime and started the necessary investigation. It is important to note that the father of the victim had passed away about two months back. And since the death of his father, Mahesh Ghatowar was working as a labor as well as continuing his education in the Biswanath Commerce College where he was a student of the first year of graduation. He was engaged as a helper in a construction work a night before, so he returned home early in the morning and slept off. That is when this incident took place.

Meanwhile, Garchuk police could trace the boy of Raju Goswami, the prime accused in the Lalung Gaon murder case, from Maligaon on Sunday. Raju Goswami ran away with his 10- to 12-year-old son allegedly after killing his wife. After Raju’s confession, the police were able to recover his son.
