Undergraduate programme in Aniruddhadeva Sports University

DIBRUGARH: The four-year undergraduate programme in Physical Education-BPED (Hons), will start at Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University, Chabua.

Disclosing this to media persons in Dibrugarh on Friday, Vice-Chancellor of the Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University (SSASU), Prof. JP Verma announced that the university was going to start the BPED course as per the New Educational Policy, 2020 with multiple exit options from the academic year 2020-21. He further stated that the complete four-year BPED (Honours) was an undergraduate professional programme in physical education with research thesis. However, Vice-Chancellor Verma said, "Students will have the option to exit after completing one, two or three years of education with a certificate in PE, Diploma in PE or Bachelors in PE respectively." He also said that the undergraduate programme in Physical Education would prepare the students for a career in physical education and related professions such as engagement in schools, sports administration, fitness and health clubs, law enforcement, yoga centres, hospitality industry and others. Prof Verma further announced that in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the selection of students for the course would be done through online admission.
